TRAINING

WHERE DO WE MEET?

 

STRATFORD PARK LEISURE CENTRE , Stratford Rd, Stroud.

 

Either outside the main entrance if the weather is good, or in the cafe area of the Leisure centre if it's raining or cold.

WHEN DO WE MEET?

 

Monday evening - 6.30pm

Strength and conditioning session lasting about an hour

 

Wednesday evening - 6.30pm

Run session  6 miles minimum - split into pace based groups

 

Friday  evening - 6.30pm

Run session - for our less speedy members

 

Weekend 

Sunday long, slower run, meeting around 8.45am in various locations.

 

All training sessions start with a warm up and finish with a cool down and stretches

what to wear

Be Safe, Be seen! Hi Viz tops or vests with reflective strips on top of your running shirt are mandatory in the winter months when we do most of our running around the streets of Stroud. Good quality, well fitted running shoes and clothing appropriate to the weather will also make your runs more comfortable. Gloucester Sports carry a great range and offer excellent advice.

what to bring

Always bring a drink of water with you. There are very good water bottle belts available, which are surprisingly comfortable to run with. Nathan do a particularly hydration good belt.

 

In the winter months, a headtorch is very useful, especially as not everywhere we run will have good street lighting.
